For me, painting acrylic on canvas has become something of an obsession. I find myself inspired by the simple act of putting paint on canvas. How I can transform a blank slate into a work of art that is uniquely my own is humbling and inspiring.

The feeling of accomplishment I have when I complete a piece brings me joy, but it's the process that really motivates me to keep going. When I pick up my brush or palette knife and apply colour to the canvas, each stroke feels like an adventure as my artwork takes shape. All the little decisions about how much pressure to use or what shade will work best come together in harmony, and suddenly, there's this beautiful thing where once there was nothing.

Acrylic paints also offer unique possibilities for creating art; their fast drying times allow for bold layers and more abstract techniques that wouldn't be possible with other mediums. You can create so many different textures with them, too – from smooth velvet-like surfaces to heavily textured pieces made with palette knives or various waxes. Experimenting with other applications keeps things exciting and gives me new ways to express myself through artwork.

I'm often asked what inspires me when painting acrylic on canvas, but truthfully inspiration seems to come randomly in moments rather than from any one source or place. Maybe it's an emotion stirred up by music playing softly in the background or perhaps seeing something beautiful out in nature… whatever form it takes. Inspiration arrives unsolicited, yet it is always welcome! So no matter where life takes me or how busy things get around here, I always have time for one more session at the easel – painting acrylic on canvas is just something that speaks directly to my soul!
